"Billy" came back home in August
2005, and had his first show with me just 6 months after
full knee
replacement surgery. I was so proud of him, and
so happy that I was able to "get around" the ring.
He helped me get back on the road to recovery perhaps faster
than I would have.
With the exception of the National Specialty in 2005, and
the TarTan Specialty, all our shows together were indoors
and points were earned from the Bred-By class, forcing the
issue that I had to get in there and do the work as a handler
again. His last 2 shows however were outdoors, and this past
spring (2006) was so wet and rainy, with lots of mud, so
Candy Carswell showed him for me.
At the TarTan supported entry he went RWD, and the next day
he was BW to finish his title. The ring was large, and had
mud and puddles, along with a nasty rain off and on. I was
so thankful that Candy was there to get the job done. I was
just too chicken to go into the ring.
