Sassy’s OFA History

“Sassy” has been a mainstay of a typical Gordon Setter, with a wonderful positive attitude and a will to do anything. She has produced consistency in the Field, Obedience and show ring. All her kids with a CH title have a specialty win. I am so proud of the owners for all their love and hard work.

On Monday, April 18 CH TRI-SET NO SUCH NONSENSE CD JH SASSY crossed over the Rainbow Bridge with quiet dignity. Born on Christmas Eve, 2009, Sassy was quite the present. She became a part of my life when she was 9 weeks of age. I had offered to help out Karen Gatchell with her care for just a few weeks, which turned into months, then her lifetime. Our adventures started immediately after I got her, when we left on the first of many trips, this particular one to Florida. By trip’s end she had visited six state high points and traveled over 3500 miles. Sassy loved to travel whenever she had the chance. After getting her JH (Junior Hunter title) she was off to see Janie Bristow for her CD (obedience title); from there she was off to see her co-owner, Amy Johnson Edward for her CH (show Championship) and birthed the first of her two litters. She also proved to be a dedicated mother! Her pups earned her the GSCA Top Producer as well as the 2019 GSCA #1 Brood Bitch of the year (tied for first place). Throughout this time Sassy eagerly traveled between Karen and me. She was always up for hiking and cycling adventures in any kind of weather.

Sassy was the epitome of a quiet, dignified Gordon Setter. All who met her loved her! Right up to the very end, Sassy was ready for her next adventure. She will be deeply missed. RIP, sweet Sassy.
